About Peru

The Republic of Peru
(República del Perú)

Population : 29,549,517

Peru is a country in western South America.

It is bordered on the north by Ecuador and Colombia, on the east by Brazil, on the southeast by Bolivia, on the south by Chile, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.

Peru is South America's third largest country, covering 1,285,215 sq. km., and can be divided into three distinct geographic regions. The best known of these is the central high sierra of the Andes, with its massive peaks, steep canyons, and extraordinary pre Columbian archaeological sites

It is a very poor country, but is rich in culture, heritage and history.

In every city, village and town there are unique customs, foods and traditions.

Ancón

I am living in a  district of Northern Lima Province  Called Ancón
Population: 29,419

Ancon used to be a upscale beach resort town, but has fallen into poverty over the last decade.

There are no supermarkets, paved roads, fancy resturaunts or gas stations here.
There is a market where we go everyday to buy our groceries
It is about 2 hours by public transportation to get to Lima city.
